Motorists driving on Interstate 40 Eastbound toward Roane County are advised to be aware of high traffic volumes at mile marker 353. Traffic is backed up from past the Highway 326/Gallaher Road exit to just before the Highway 58 exit in Kingston. High traffic volumes are expected to persist until about  6 p.m. Eastern. Westbound traffic is not affected at this time.

Consider U.S. Highway 70 as an alternate route.
