A Cumberland County road project which has been planned for nearly two decades is finally underway. The Tennessee Dept. of Transportation has been working toward making Peavine Road a five lane highway since 1999. According a release, the $49.5 million project is to widen the road from Firetower Rd. to Catoosa Blvd. Movement of utility lines for construction purposes is expected to be completed this summer. The estimated completion date is 2-3 years.
