A Crossville Police Department volunteer, Edie Petty, was recognized today by Chief David Beaty, with a Certificate of Merit, for her outstanding performance with the Volunteers in Policing program.

Petty was instrumental in helping the patrol division locate an individual the 911 Communications Center had dispatched city police units to be on the lookout for. After observing and identifying the subject, Petty took quick action to help officers locate the individual. The Crossville Police Department says Petty’s actions and efforts are to be commended and are a shining example of teamwork and professionalism.
