PLANNED POWER OUTAGE IN ROANE AND MORGAN CO. GOES LONGER THAN PLANNED

Nearly 4,000 Roane and Morgan County power customers experienced an outage just before midnight last night that lasted until 8 a.m. eastern this morning. TVA and the Harriman Utility Board scheduled a six and half hour power outage to work on a Harriman substation. Authorities originally said the work should be done by 6 a.m.. It went two hours longer as HUB awaited TVA’s permission to restore power after the work was complete. Authorities said crews could not work on the substation earlier this year because temperatures were too high. The planned outage happened last night in temperatures close to or at freezing.
