POLICE APPREHEND SUSPECT WITH DRUGS IN HIS POCKETS, HAIRSPRAY IN HIS PANTS
Late Sunday afternoon, Crossville police responded to Rite-Aid for a report of a shoplifter. There they encountered 26-year-old Rocky Darrell Davenport of Crossville. During a search, police found a firearm concealed in Davenport’s waistband and an unsheathed fixed-blade knife in his front pocket. The firearm turned out to be a BB gun. They also found plastic baggies of marijuana and meth, and more baggies containing full and partial Xanax bars. Police then were able to retrieve the stolen merchandise – two cans of hairspray tucked into the front of Davenport’s pants. Davenport was charged with manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance for the marijuana, meth and Xanax. He was also charged with shoplifting and unlawful possession of a weapon.
