POLICE: CROSSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH FILING FALSE REPORT AFTER NOT BEING HONEST ABOUT STABBING INCIDENT
A Cumberland County man has been charged following a physical altercation. Crossville police responded to Durable Products last night to a male who was stabbed at a different location and bleeding badly. The report states 56-year-old Wallace Jewell Rhea of Crossville told officers he was stabbed by an unknown male after he exited a gas station on Highway 127 North. Officers later learned Rhea was actually stabbed by a female he knew defending herself. Police say the female had some broke ribs from a recent incident. Because of the misleading statements Rhea initially provided causing law enforcement to search for a male subject that did not exist, Rhea was charged with filing a false police report and domestic assault.
