POLICE: MEDLEY TRIES TO SET SUBJECT ON FIRE AT HOMELESS CAMPSITE

Law enforcement in Crossville went to the Obed River overpass Monday in reference to an altercation. Police say 52-year-old Brian Keith Medley attempted to set a tent on fire at a homeless campsite next to the river and threw gas on a victim trying to set him ablaze. Officers located Medley at a separate camp set up who allegedly appeared intoxicated. He supposedly told them he was not returning to jail and grabbed a milk jug containing running alcohol and threated to “light this place up” holding a cigarette over it. Medley was arrested without any further incident and charged with arson and aggravated assault.
