POLICE: SUMMERS ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING GUN AT TWO INDIVIDUALS

Crossville police recently went to a home on Dunbar Lane to a caller stating a man was pointing a gun at her.

The arrest report released today states officers arrived to see a female with a baseball bat in her hand and 77-year-old James Lewis Summers walking towards police with his hand under his jacket.

The officer repeatedly told Summers to stop walking and show him his hands.

When Summers did not comply, the officer drew his firearm and demanded Summers stop walking towards him and show him his hands.

Summers then complied with what the officer instructed him to do. He was placed in custody and put in the back of the police cruiser.

Summers reportedly told police he did not want the female and another male at his residence. He allegedly pulled out a black Vigilante revolver-style pellet gun and shot at both of them to scare them off.

Summers was arrested for two counts of assault.
