POWER LOST TO OVER 10,000 VEC CUSTOMERS

UPDATE – 9:05 A.M. – Power has been restored.

VEC says just over 10,000 customers in Cumberland County lost power overnight around 3 a.m.

As of 5:20 a.m. Sunday, the number dropped to around 8,000.

The cause was placed on excessive power demand as the low temperature was around zero outside.

The areas affected by the power outage include the Vandever area, Lake Tansi, Crab Orchard, Ozone, and parts of Fairfield Glade.

Power was restored around 9:05 a.m. Sunday morning.
