PREDATORS ONE WIN AWAY FROM WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS OF STANLEY CUP

Pekka Rinne made 32 saves, and the Nashville Predators beat the Blues 2-1 Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The Predators now lead the round two playoff series 3-1 and can advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in team history with a win in St. Louis Friday. Rinne and Blues goalie Jake Allen dominated the game for two periods, trading highlight saves and keeping the game scoreless. The Predators finally broke through in the second period when Ryan Ellis continued his brilliant post season run with his fourth playoff goal for a 1-0 lead. Moments later, James Neal thru a wicked wrist shot by Allen for a 2-0 lead. Joel Edmunson finally scored for St. Louis with just under four minutes to play, but Rinne slammed the door for the Nashville win. The Preds are 7-1 so far this post season, and they have won eight straight playoff games at Bridgestone Arena.
