PROPERTY BEING CLEARED FOR NEW RESTAURANT COMING TO CROSSVILLE

Crossville should see a brand new restaurant hopefully by the end of this year.
Crews are presently demolishing a building at the corner of North Main Street and Chuckles Parkway.
It will be the future site of Highway 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries. The company is a fast casual restaurant chain that operates primarily on the East Coast of the United States. Formerly known as Andy’s Cheesesteaks and Cheeseburgers, the first location opened in Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1991. It now has 135 restaurants in the United States.
105.7 News has confirmed with the Crossville Building Codes Department the corporate offices for Highway 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries has a land disturbance permit for the clearing of the property which is ongoing now. The company has also been approved by the city for a building permit to start construction.
A Highway 55 restaurant usually has a 1950’s theme, with pink-and-teal color accents and 1950’s decor mounted on the walls. Kitchens are open, whereby customers can watch cooks grill their food.
Hamburgers will be one of the featured items with a tasty selection.
John Boy & Billy BBQ Bacon Burger – Served with your choice of American, provolone or pepper jack cheese, mustard chili, bacon, a crispy onion ring, and tangy John Boy and Billy’s Grillin’ Sauce
Carolina Classic Cheeseburger – Topped with mustard, onions, chili, slaw and your choice of American, provolone or pepper jack cheese. Make it a double or add bacon!
All-American Cheeseburger – Topped with mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles and your choice of American, provolone or pepper jack cheese. Make it a double or add bacon!
Pimento Cheeseburger – Topped with bacon and a generous portion of made-from-scratch pimento cheese
Build-Your-Own Burger – Pick any 4 toppings and your choice of American, provolone or pepper jack cheese. Make it a double or add bacon. The following can be included on this hamburger: mustard, onions, slaw, chili, mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled jalapeños, grilled mushrooms; grilled onions or grilled bell peppers.

Highway 55 also officers the “Five Five Challenge” for the bold. This is 55 oz. of burger with at least 4 trimmings on a bun, plus fries & a 24 oz. drink. If you can eat it all in 30 minutes or less, it’s FREE and your name on their website for bragging rights. If you can’t finish, you owe them.
The company currently has four locations in Tennessee, all in the middle part of the state (Shelbyville, Nolensville, Spring Hill, and Lewisburg).
