Cumberland County deputies were dispatched Friday to a home on Laurel Circle for a report of prowlers.

The resident told officers an SUV pulled into their driveway and dropped off some male subjects who ran towards the house.

After a few minutes, the subjects returned to the SUV and left. It came back a few minutes later, and the males ran back towards the home a second time.

The residents went into a bedroom because they didn’t know if the males were there to harm them.

The prowlers left after being there a short time.

The resident went outside to see a Honda Civic in the driveway, covered with toilet paper and eggs.

A deputy found a Walmart shopping bag on the ground near the Honda. It contained a large egg carton and a mostly empty pack of toilet paper.

The officer also found a Walmart receipt near the bag. The items were purchased about an hour before the incident.

Officers will follow up with Walmart to see if security footage can help identify the subjects.
