Publix is cracking down on dogs—even service animals.

The grocery chain has posted signs at all of their locations, telling shoppers to leave their pets at home, unless they are service animals trained to help those with disabilities.

“For food safety reasons, only service animals that are specifically trained to aid a person with disabilities are permitted within the store,” the signs say. “Service animals are not permitted to sit or ride in shopping carts. Thank you for your help!”

Service animals have become a hot-button issue over the last year as several states have tried to crack down on people who falsely claim their pets as service and support animals so they can bring them into public places.
