PUTNAM COUNTY MAN FOUND NOT GUILTY OF CHILD AB– USE CHARGES

A Cookeville man was found not guilty in Putnam County Criminal Court today of multiple counts of aggravated child abuse. Court officials say 27-year-old Malcolm Jamal Johnson was charged back in 2014 with six counts of aggravated child abuse and one count of aggravated child neglect. The charges stemmed from allegetions of abuse of his girlfriend’s infant at the time. This was the second trial involving the child abuse charges against Johnson. The first trial resulted in Johnson being cleared of the majority of the charges but not all of them.
