The NWS Nashville has Putnam County under an Elevated Risk for Fire Weather Risk today.

Meaning: Low humidity and windy conditions will create dangerous fire conditions. Fires can escape control more easily and be difficult to contain.

Currently, TN Department of Forestry is NOT issuing burn permits due to this risk — REMINDER permits ARE required until May 15th outside of this restriction.
