RANDY HAWN HONORED AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING AS OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER
At the Crossville City Council meeting held on January 13, 2026, Randy Hawn, an employee of the Street Department, was honored as the Outstanding Employee of the Quarter for his exceptional performance and demonstration of care.
The recognition stemmed from an incident on October 28, 2025, when Randy, while traveling on Miller Avenue, witnessed a single-vehicle automobile accident in which smoke was emitting from the damaged vehicle, suggesting a possible fire. Acting decisively and calmly, he followed proper safety protocols by moving his city vehicle to the roadside, activating emergency signals, and parking securely.
He then used the fire extinguisher from his city vehicle to quickly extinguish the flames in the affected area. Randy promptly assisted the occupant(s) of the crashed vehicle to safety and remained on the scene, staying with those involved to provide support and reassurance until first responders arrived.
His clear-headed thinking under pressure and unwavering commitment to the safety of citizens and the community were highlighted as exemplary, earning him well-deserved congratulations from council members and attendees for embodying the high standards of service expected in the city.
