RECKLESS DRIVER TAKES OUT MAILBOXES AND CATTLE FENCE ON LANTANA

On Friday, Deputy Christopher Page of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Lantana Road regarding a recent Vandalism incident. Upon arriving, Deputy Page noticed two trucks in the ditch with a few people working on a fence to keep cattle from entering the roadway.
The complainant is the owner of a fenced-in property on Lantana and said a red Ford F-250 was driving erratically on Lantana Road, and, upon exiting the final curve of Laural Creek, the red Ford truck along with another unidentified vehicle sped past them and at least two other motorists.
The red Ford truck was all over the road at a high rate of speed and lost control, striking three residential mailboxes, then driving through the fence belonging to the complainant. The vehicle then reversed out of the field and sped off in the direction of Bledsoe County, leaving about 220 yards of skid marks through both lanes of travel.
THP and county units conducted a search but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Currently, no suspects have been named and no charges have been filed.
