RESCUE SQUAD, AREA AGENCIES WORK TO FREE INJURED HIKER FROM OZONE FALLS
Cumberland County rescue squad was called around 4 pm Tuesday afternoon to respond to a fall at the bottom of Ozone Falls. An injured hiker had fallen and received significant injuries to his leg.
EMS, rescue squad, city fire, and county fire made their way to the patient to assess injuries.
The hiker’s extraction required multiple low-angle rope systems. The agencies all worked together getting equipment and personnel on the trail and getting rope systems operational.
Once the rescuers got the patient stabilized for extraction, the injured hiker was removed from the trail and placed in EMS/Life Force One care around 6:00 pm
Agencies assisting with operations but not limited to:
Cumberland Co EMA, Cumberland Co EMS, Cumberland County Fire Dept, Crossville City Fire Dept, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, THP, and Life Force One Medical Helicopter.
Thank you all for the help that was provided. Amazing work from all agencies and members.
