RHEA COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER ANNOUNCES RUN FOR STATE REP

The Rhea Herald News reports that Harold “Bo” McCawley, a long-time Rhea County resident and current School Board member, has announced his candidacy for State Representative of District 31. With deep roots in the community, McCawley highlights his extensive experience in education, business, and military service as qualifications for the role.
Having served over 20 years on the Rhea County School Board, he has advocated for teachers and students, while his 33-year career at La-Z-Boy, retiring as Vice President and General Manager, equipped him with skills in managing budgets and driving economic growth. A 16-year veteran of the 3/278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, McCawley is committed to supporting military personnel, veterans, and their families.
He also emphasizes the importance of healthcare, pledging to collaborate with Rhea Medical Center to improve access and mental health services. McCawley promises to be a responsive leader, listening to constituents and addressing their concerns to build a stronger Rhea County that reflects its values and prioritizes its people.
