ROAD CONSTRUCTION WORKER ESCAPES INJURY AFTER BEING HIT BY SIDE MIRROR ON VEHICE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

TBI REVEALS SUSPECT IN OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY

A road construction worker escaped injury after being hit by a side mirror on a vehicle Monday in Cumberland County. Officers responded to the 1600 block of Old Mail Road where 38-year-old Scottie Atkins of Luttrell, Tennessee told them he just finished loading a skid steer and got off the trailer when a vehicle driven by a female from Crossville struck him. The driver told officers she didn’t know Atkins was hit but she heard a bang and thought it came from the construction site. The report did not indicate if the driver was given a citation. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution while traveling in any road work areas.
