ROANE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO MEET NEXT WEEK

The Roane County Board of Education will hold a regular meeting on June 19, 2025, at the Edward E. Williams Building, beginning with a call to order, the Pledge to the Flag, roll call, and adoption of the regular and consent agendas. The board will approve the minutes from the May 19, 2025, meeting and recognize athletic achievements from Midway High School, Midway Middle School, and Cherokee Middle School.
The meeting includes a hearing of delegations and various reports, such as the Director’s Report, Business Manager’s Financial Report for May 2025, Facilities Report, Personnel & Benefits Committee meeting minutes from May 19, and the Chair’s Report. No old business is listed, but evaluation results for the Director of Schools will be distributed, and the board will note a planning session and Summer Law Conference scheduled for July 16-19, 2025, in Gatlinburg, with the July board meeting rescheduled to July 24.
New business items include approving tenure recommendations, the 2025 Roane County Hazard Mitigation Plan Resolution, payroll schedule adjustments, work-based learning for students under 18, surplus technology and non-technology equipment from various schools, and budget amendments.
The board will also approve out-of-state and overnight school-sponsored trips for Harriman High School’s FCCLA & DECA Chapter Officer Leadership Camp, Midway High School’s Track & Field TSSAA State Championship, Roane County High School’s Softball and Tennis TSSAA State Tournaments, and Roane County High School’s Yearbook Expo. The meeting will conclude with comments and adjournment.
