ROANE CO. COMMISSION APPROVES BORROWING $3.9 MILLION FOR OLIVER SPRINGS SCHOOLS PROJECT

The Roane County Commission voted last night to approve a bond resolution borrowing the final $3.9 million needed for renovations to Oliver Springs Middle School and Oliver Springs High School. The commission approved the first $7 million for the project last year. Roane County Commission Chairman Randy Ellis told 105.7 News the money must be used for the projects at the Oliver Springs schools. The school board recently voted to close all five high schools for two super high schools to be built. That however would have to go before the funding body which is the county commission.
