ROANE COUNTY COURTHOUSE TO RE-OPEN TO PUBLIC MAY 1 WITH SOME RESTRICTIONS FOR NOW

Roane County Executive Ron Woody says the courthouse will re-open to the public Friday, May 1, 2020 with some restrictions for now. Starting May 1, courthouse hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. All employees and citizens will enter the structure from the main parking area. Both employees and citizens will have their temperature checked each time they enter the courthouse.

  • SERVICE BY COUNTY CLERK: Individuals who require service from the County Clerk (tag renewal, business/marriage/fishing licenses, and new vehicle registrations) shall use the left side ramp to enter the courthouse. No driver’s license and/or Real ID services will be provided until further notice.
  • OTHER COUNTY SERVICES: All other individuals needing courthouse services will enter on the courthouse ramp located to the right of the main entrance. The Probate Clerk is not issuing passports until further notice.

Red tape shall be placed on the handicap ramps, sidewalks, and within the Courthouse to encourage distancing. Masks will be made available to all employees and will be encouraged to be used when servicing the general public. The general public will also be asked to wear masks.

Starting this Monday (April 27, 2020) the administrative leave policy goes out of effect meaning all employees of the courthouse are required to be at their respective work stations.
