ROANE COUNTY DEPUTIES APPREHEND FUGITIVE WANTED IN MISSOURI

Yesterday afternoon, Roane County deputies responded to a call from Cumberland County deputies requesting backup, due to the possibility of drug involvement. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle seen pulled off to the side of Firetower Road. According to the police report, 35-year-old Terra Laneigh Demers “had her arm up on the dashboard tied off and injecting a syringe into it.” A search of the vehicle turned up seventeen syringes, two spoons, two pipes and a small bag with white crystal residue. Central Dispatch confirmed Demers was wanted in Perry County, Missouri, with nationwide extradition. Deputies arrested Demers on active warrants of fraudulent procurement of a credit or debit device, forgery and failure to appear on a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Roane County jail to await extradition.
