ROANE COUNTY DEPUTIES RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE; CHARGES FILED

Aided by OnStar tracking, Roane County deputies recovered a stolen vehicle on the 300 block of Shenandoah Drive late yesterday morning, and charged Kimberly Denise Dagnan, age 35, with theft.

When contacted about the recovery of his vehicle, the owner showed deputies several messages from Dagnan admitting she had the vehicle and claiming she would return it, which she never did. She also reportedly asked the owner multiple times whether he had contacted the police. The owner said he never gave Dagnan permission to take the vehicle. Dagnan claimed otherwise.

The original tag on the vehicle was a dealer plate; but the tag displayed at the time of its recovery was P95-40D, which was pulled from another vehicle and not reported stolen. The original plate has not been recovered.

The vehicle had damage to the driver’s side mirror. The fuse box had been pulled, along with the OnStar backup battery from the trunk. These seem to indicate an attempt to disable OnStar tracking.

Dagnan’s purse was found inside the vehicle and in the purse was a loaded syringe believed to contain water.

Dagnan was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, improper display of plates, vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia.
