ROANE COUNTY DEPUTY BIT BY DOG DURING DISTURBANCE ON STEVENS CIRCLE
Roane County deputies responded to 107 Stevens Circle in Rockwood around 12:30 a.m. today for a disturbance.
Officers encountered 40-year-old William Simpson, who had two warrants out of Anderson County.
When Simpson was placed under arrest, he reportedly began fighting with deputies.
At some point, a pitbull bit Deputy Greenlaw in the lower leg.
Medics responded to the scene to check both Simpson and Greenlaw.
Simpson was taken to Roane Medical Center for evaluation. He was charged with possession of marijuana for resale, assault on an officer, allowing dogs to run at large, and resisting arrest.
