ROANE COUNTY EMERGENCY CREWS RESPOND TO WEEKEND INCIDENTS
Emergency crews in the area managed a busy weekend responding to several traffic accidents, a major structure fire, and numerous medical emergency calls. Road incidents began Saturday afternoon with a crash at the intersection of Ruritan Road and Highway 70 in Midtown, which remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol with the extent of injuries still unknown.
On Sunday afternoon, a single-vehicle accident occurred on Blackjack Road near Rockwood when a car struck a utility pole, resulting in minor injuries for the female driver. Later that night around 9:30 p.m., a three-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 40 near the Lawnville Road exit caused temporary traffic delays and left one person with minor injuries.
In addition to the vehicle accidents, local firefighters were called to a major emergency early Sunday morning when a severe house fire broke out on Old Suddath Road. The Blair Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and requested assistance from neighboring agencies; while no injuries were reported, the home was a total loss.
Beyond these distinct incidents, local ambulance services and first responders maintained a standard weekend volume, addressing numerous medical-related emergency calls throughout the community.
