Several Roane County fire department agencies responded today to a house blaze on Sycamore Drive.

Crews arrived to see smoke coming from the residence. The occupants and several pets were able to get out safely.

The residence sustained heavy smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the family in a place to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
