ROANE COUNTY HIGH GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM FINISHES 4TH IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Roane County High School girls softball team finished 4th yesterday in the state championship after a loss to White House Heritage. Kingston watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-2 loss. White House Heritage took the lead on a single in the second inning. Kingston struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing White House Heritage, giving up ten runs. In the second inning, White House Heritage got itsoffense started when Addison Holmes singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. White House Heritage scored five runs in the sixth inning. White House Heritage’s big inning was driven by singles by Staten Holmes, Riley Hallum, and Holmes and an error on a ball put in play by Samantha West. Alyssa Arden earned the win for White House Heritage. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out 11 and walking zero. Keylon Reynolds took the loss for Kingston. She surrendered five runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out three. Lenna Robinson led Kingston with two hits in three at bats. White House Heritage totaled 12 hits.
