ROANE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR POSSESSING CHILD PORN

A Roane County man has been sentenced to over 21 years in prison for producing and possessing child pornography. A federal judge gave 25-year-old David Tyler Wilson of Oliver Springs 262 months in federal prison for producing and possessing child pornography. Upon his release, Wilson will registered as a sex offender and be under supervised probation for 15 years.

The case started back when an agent with the Knoxville Division of the F.B.I. obtained a search warrant for the address and primary residence of Wilson. Facts to support the search warrant were collected by an undercover agent who had been conversing with Wilson between October 1, 2018 and October 3, 2018 through the social media application, KIK.

Wilson admitted to the undercover agent that he was sexually active with his 4-year-old niece and his 10-month-old niece.

Wilson stated to the undercover agent that he had been incarcerated in the past for child pornography.

Wilson supposedly sent multiple very explicit images of children that he stated were his nieces.

According to the FBI agent, the undercover officer began conversing with Wilson who actively transmitted several pornographic images.

This agent also had a video conversation utilizing the social media application, KIK. During the video conversation, Wilson discussed setting up a system to sell child pornography involving nieces. This conversation was conducted utilizing video, allowing the undercover agent to positively identify Wilson.
