ROANE COUNTY POWER OUTAGES RESTORED AFTER HIGH WINDS TOPPLE TREES AND POLES
Roane County did not experience any severe storms during the initial phase of last night’s weather system. However, early this morning around 4:00 a.m., winds began gusting to at least 50 miles per hour, causing power outages in parts of Kingston. Several utility poles were broken due to the high winds, according to Rockwood Electric Utility spokesman Jason Jolly.
He reported via text message that all power in Kingston was fully restored by around 7:30 a.m. In Rockwood, a large tree fell on John Street, damaging some power lines. Harriman Utility also responded to several outages caused by the strong winds. Most customers have since had their electricity restored, though a few isolated cases may remain.
