ROANE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PICKUP TRUCK AND TRAILER CRASH ON I-40 OFF-RAMP
A Roane County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle accident late Friday night on the Interstate 40 westbound off-ramp at Exit 352 in Kingston.
According to Roane County Chief Deputy Tim Phillips, the incident occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. The sheriff’s department pickup truck was towing a utility trailer that had been utilized earlier in the evening during a saturation event in Oliver Springs.
As the vehicle approached the Kingston exit, the trailer began to fishtail, resulting in the driver losing control. The pickup truck sustained significant damage and required a tow from the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the officer operating the vehicle escaped uninjured, and no other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
