DRIVER INJURED AFTER BLACKING OUT AND CRASHING INTO BUSINESS SIGN IN ROCKWOOD
An official police report has shed light on a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, August 8, along North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood.
According to the Rockwood Police Department, 48-year-old April Sunshine Stokes was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima southbound on North Gateway Avenue when she experienced a blackout. The vehicle crossed over the northbound lanes before colliding with a local business sign.
The crash resulted in extensive damage to the Nissan and left Stokes with injuries. Roane County EMS transported her to Tennova Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment of injuries authorities described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators confirmed that no other individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the collision, and no other vehicles or occupants were involved in the incident.
