ROANE FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO DOWNED POWER LINE
Earlier today, around noon, several emergency vehicles from the EOC responded to a downed power line on Michael Drive in the Shenandoah Estates area, just behind the Webster subdivision off Post Oak Valley Road. The line was possibly sparking and catching nearby grass beside the road on fire.
A tree had apparently caused a power pole to fall, bringing the lines down with it, which may have resulted in power outages for the Shenandoah Estates area during the afternoon hours.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found no active fire, and several additional units en route were canceled. Firefighters remained on site until REU personnel arrived to repair the power line, replace the pole, and restore power if it had been interrupted.
