BBBTV12 – Harriman, TN – The Roane County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a man whose body was discovered Wednesday, August 6, at a mobile home off Clax Gap Road.

Chief Deputy Tim Phillips confirmed the deceased as George Austin, described as an elderly man. His exact age has not yet been released.

Investigators have not ruled out foul play, though natural causes remain a possibility. Phillips said the investigation is ongoing, and a person of interest is being sought for questioning. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case.

Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Boduch confirmed the identification during the preliminary investigation. The official cause of death will be determined following further examination.
