ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTS POLICE CHIEF’S DECISION TO NOT RENEW CONTRACT
The Rockwood City Council has accepted Police Chief Danny Wright’s decision to not renew his contract. Chief Wright had stated that he would not ask for an extension to his employment contract which expires on Jan. 31st. He has made it known that he is leaving strictly for “economic reasons.” According to the state retirement system for law enforcement employees, if he does not retire, he would have to have higher compensation to make his stay worthwhile. Former chief Bill Stinnett will assume the role until a new full-time chief can be found. Picture courtesy of Roane News.
