ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL APPROVES FOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
The Rockwood City Council approved four recommendations by the police department Monday night, including the hiring of two new police officers. The new officers, Dustin Arnold and John Hill, will undergo training through the police academy. The Council also approved the donation of a surplus police car to the Blount County Sheriff’s Department, along with the promotion of two officers to the rank of sergeant. The Council also okayed the retirement of K-9 drug dog Shadow, who has served the city for the past seven years under the direction of Officer Charles Halbrick. The Council further granted approval to turn over ownership of Shadow to Officer Halbrick.
