ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL PASSES BUDGET ON FIRST READING WITH NO TAX INCREASE
Members of the Rockwood City Council have approved the first reading of the city’s 2017-18 Fiscal Year Budget. The $5.2 million budget has a starting fund balance of nearly $842,000 and according to City Mayor Mike “Brillo” Miller, there will be no property tax increase. City Officials feel good about going into the new year with such a healthy fund balance. With that good news, the budget also provides funding for a 2 percent raise and $1000 Christmas bonus for city employees. Other money included in the budget has been set aside for sidewalk improvements and paving.
