ROCKWOOD MAN CHARGED WITH HOME BURGLARY IN CRAB ORCHARD

A Roane County man has been charged with a home burglary that took place five years ago in Crab Orchard. The report indicates officers responded on September 29, 2013 to a home on Highway 70 East near the I-40 overpass and learned the suspects were leaving the residence in a Chevy Impala. The car was spotted minutes later at Haley’s Grove Cemetery but after a search of the area, no contact was made. The homeowner told deputies he confronted the suspects and attempted to hold them at gunpoint when they fled the scene. One shot was then fired at the tire of the Impala. Fast forward to this past Tuesday when law enforcement caught up with 36-year-old Dustin Tyler Woody of Rockwood who was taken into custody and transported into Cumberland County to the jail. Woody is charged with aggravated burglary, theft over $1,000 and vandalism. He was initially placed under $30,000 bond.
