ROCKWOOD NATURAL GAS RATES TO DROP SLIGHTLY WHILE WATER RATES INCREASE

While natural gas rates will drop somewhat, water rates will see a slight increase according to officials with Rockwood Water Wastewater and Natural Gas. Earlier this week board members met with consultant Daniel Peterman who gave an overview of national and local gas rates. He told members that rates could be adjusted down around 15 cents per decatherm for the time being which would be a decrease of $1.50 on an average bill of $100. Provided approval by the city council, water rates will increase about 2.5 percent The water increase was originally discussed by the council in June but was tabled until recently.
