Rockwood Police, Fire, and EMS were all called to the parking lot of the Victorian Square Assisted Living Facility on S. Chamberlain St. Thursday evening for a pedestrian vs. vehicle report. According to witnesses, a black pickup, driven by a male subject identified as Colby Dale Sandifer, struck Donald Eugene Goldberg and then drove away from the scene. Sandifer later told detectives that Goldberg had thrown a monkey wrench at his windshield which resulted in him accelerating the truck and running down Goldberg. Goldberg was transported by ambulance to UT Medical Center for a possible broken leg. The investigation is ongoing.
