The Rockwood City Council had a busy Monday night. Members approved a 2.5 percent water rate increase for all Rockwood water customers. The increase passed unanimously and will go in effect in time for next months’ billing. The council also approved allowing the water, sewer and gas board to borrow up to $1.5 million for sewer line replacement on a 12-year pay back plan. Lastly, the council unanimously appointed interim Police Chief Bill Stinnett to that position on a permanent basis. An assistant chief could be appointed at next month’s meeting.
