Highway 68 was shut down between Grandview and Spring City for almost 6 hours Thursday after a dump truck overturned after swerving to miss an oncoming vehicle.

TDOT SmartWay reported the wreck happened at 11:37 am. Both lanes of traffic were closed from Possum Trot Road on Grandview Mountain to Big Apple Road in Spring City.

Traffic finally began to move again just before 5 pm.

No one was injured in the accident.
