ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP LANDS MAN IN JAIL ON FELONY METH CHARGES
During a routine traffic stop on Old Lantana Road at West Avenue, Cumberland County deputies arrested one man for felony possession of meth Friday night. Both the driver and passenger showed physical signs of illegal narcotics use. Consent to search the truck was denied and the passenger, 39-year-old Jeffery Lynn Tabor of Crossville, stated he wasn’t getting out. Deputies informed them they would need to exit the vehicle in order for K-9 Niko to do an exterior sniff, at which point Tabor said he had a bag of dope in his wallet. Niko alerted to the presence of drugs. Near the driver’s side seat belt was a plastic wrapper with meth inside it. A search of Tabor turned up a small baggie of meth. The combined weight was nearly a gram. Tabor was arrested and placed under $10,000 bond. He’s due in court March 4.
