RUTHERFORD COUNTY DA WILL DROP ALL CHARGES MADE IN “OPERATION CANDY CRUSH”

The Rutherford County District Attorney has dropped all charges made against 23 business owners who were originally charged with allegedly selling gummy products made with a cannabis-based substance. TBI laboratory technicians say that they cannot differentiate on whether the cannabidiol detected in the products came from hemp or marijuana plant. District Attorney General Jennings Jones said all criminal charges will be dismissed and records expunged and all public nuisance actions taken against markets will be dismissed and all property seized under the court’s order will be returned. The closing of the businesses coincided with a police operation known as “Operation Candy Crush.”
