SCHLAFER INDUCTED INTO TENNESSEE SCHOOL FOR DEAF HALL OF FAME
A former head football coach for Cumberland County High School was inducted into the Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) Hall of Fame Saturday night. Dan Schlafer served as assistant coach at TSD in 1978 when the team went without a win. He was named head coach the following year and led them to winning seasons. He was named the National Deaf Prep Football Coach of the Year in 1980. Schlafer was head coach of the Cumberland County Jets from 1992 to 1995.
