SECOND SUBJECT ARRESTED IN HARRIMAN HOME INVASION

A second suspect has been arrested from a home invasion in Harriman last weekend. Investigators learned through interviews that the suspects, 19-year-old Jordan Taylor Crabtree and now 19-year-old Austin Kane Penley, forced their way into the victim’s home. While inside the home occupied by two women, the suspects allegedly used a baseball bat to break one of the women’s arm and hit her in the head, causing serious bodily injury. One of the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at the second younger victim and demanded money. Investigators say blunt force and threats of harm restricted the movements of both victims while inside the home, causing them to be victims of false imprisonment and kidnapping. Officers say the suspects threated to kill both victims while demanding the combination to a safe they found within the home. The suspects allegedly took at least four firearms and a 2010 Toyota Avalon from the driveway of the residence. Officers say during the questioning, Crabtree and Penley, allegedly confessed to their involvements in the crimes. Both Crabtree and Penley are from Rockwood. Crabtree was charged with three counts of possession of a legend drug without a prescription, two counts each of theft of property, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, manufacture sale and delivery of drugs, aggravated assault and one count each of theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, vandalism and introducing contraband into a penal institution. Charges against Penley include two counts each of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault and one count each of theft of property, theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated robbery, vandalism, and aggravated burglary. The Harriman Police Department continues to investigate the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Kasey Mynatt or Investigator Brian Turner at the Harriman Police Department at (865) 882-3383.
