Roane County road crews started preliminary repairs to a section of Poplar Creek Road that is deteriorating. The cost for the repairs will run in the area of $1.3 million. However, the work is expected to start in the spring of next year. For the meantime, crews closed the section of Poplar Creek Road that is failing down to one lane and place a temporary traffic light to assist with traffic flow. Motorists are asked to be patient through this process.
