Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, Crossville police arrived at a home on Woody Court to find a tan Saturn on the lawn, “almost on the front porch,” according to the police report. The car then backed up and parked on the driveway. Officers encountered 51-year-old David Edward Seickendick and 50-year-old Vincent Neal King, both of Crossville. Both were said to be “extremely intoxicated” and smelling of alcoholic beverages.

Seickendick, who had red, watery eyes, was unsteady on his feet and had to hold on to the vehicle for support. He said he’d drunk several alcoholic beverages, but would not say how many. Seickendick could not satisfactorily complete several standard field-sobriety tests, and failed a preliminary breath test.

According to the police report, when officers asked King what had happened, he told them “Seickendick had driven his car because [King] was intoxicated and they had been drinking together.” He also had no idea where they were and could not explain why they were at Woody Court. King, who was unsteady on his feet, admitted having drunk “about twelve” alcoholic beverages.

Seickendick was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license. King was charged with DUI by allowance.
