SEPTEMBER UNEMPLOYMENT SETS RECORDS IN TENNESSEE
Low unemployment in Tennessee for the month of September continued to set record lows. The state unemployment numbers for September went from 3.3 percent to 3 percent, the lowest number since tracking began in 1976. In fact, all 95 counties continued to show a decrease in unemployment. Cumberland County unemployment dropped from 4 percent in August to 3.3 percent in September. Roane County numbers mirrored those numbers decreasing from 4.1 percent to 3.3 percent. The lowest unemployment numbers were reported in Williamson County at 2.1 percent with the highest numbers in Rhea County at 4.9 percent.
